With the acquisition of Schenker logistics company of Germany, Danish DSV is now one of the largest road cargo transport companies in the world. DSV purchased Schenker from Deutsche Bahn for EUR 14.3 million on 13 September.
Together, DSV and Schenker will have an expected revenue of approximately EUR 39.3 billion (based on 2023 numbers) and a combined workforce of approximately 147,000 employees in more than 90 countries, a DSV statement reads.
The Danish company has promised it will keep several central functions in Germany, including at the main Schenker hub in Essen. DSV has also announced it will invest EUR 1 billion in Germany in the next 3 to 5 years, and that it anticipates having more employees in Germany alone than the two companies combined have today.
