Just before the end of 2025, Lithuania has signed a deal to purchase an undisclosed number of RBS-70 short-range air defence missile systems from Swedish SAAB. Moreover, it buys Carl-Gustaf M4 reusable and AT4 single-use anti-armour missile systems from the Swedish company.

The newest RBS-70 NG has an effective range up to 9 kilometres (5.6 miles) and can climb up to 5 kilometres (16,404 feet). The launching tube is mounted on a tripod-stand. Reloading and shooting the next missile should take less than a minute. RBS is the acronym for Robotsystem; Swedish for missile system. Lithuania pays EUR 320 million for the RBS-70 contract. Although the number of systems is not disclosed, international sources estimate the cost per missile on about EUR 100,000. How much the tripod launcher costs is not known.
