The Swedish Armed Forces have ordered a new anti-drone system consisting on various components and based on lessons learned by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in their defence against attacking Russian forces. The deal was announced by the Matériel Agency (FMV) of the Swedish Armed Forces on 2 April 2026.
Named Gute II, the systems’ main components are the Tridon Mk2 40-millimetre anti-aircraft gun of BAE Systems Bofors, Saab Trackfire with 30-millimetre gun as well as its Giraffe 1X air defence radar, Finnish SISU GTP 4×4 terrain vehicle (Terrängbil 24) and electronic combat and countermeasure systems.
The order includes about 70 trucks on which part of the systems will be mounted. The various components could be deployed together or separately, depending on the threat.
