The Lithuanian Navy is buying two Fast Multipurpose Attack Craft from the Finnish company Marine Alutech, both parties announced on 7 April 2025.
The boats are based on the Watercat M18 design by Marine Alutech, which have a maximum speed of 35 knots (65 km/h) and a range of about 200 nautical miles (370 km) on a single fuel load. The Finnish Navy already has a dozen of them on strength, where the type is designated as the Jehu-class landing craft. The boats can be donned with a wide variety of weaponry.
In extremely shallow waters
The design of the boats make them useful in extremely shallow waters. The Lithuanian Navy will use them to bolster its coastal defence capabilities.
