Latvia is buying 42 ASCOD 2 infantry fighting vehicles from the Spanish division of General Dynamics Land Systems. The deal, announced on 30 January 2025, is worth EUR 370 million and. The Latvian order is the outcome of a tender launched in 2023.
The ASCOD can be equipped with automatic cannons, anti-tank weapons and machine guns. The typical crew consists of three, while six troops in full combat gear can deploy from the vehicle as well.
