After about 2 years in an Iranian prison, which he visited as a tourist, Swedish EU diplomat Johan Floderus is back home. Together with the Swedish citizen Saeed Azizi, Floderus was exchanged for the Iranian man Hamid Nouri. Nouri was serving a life sentence in Sweden, for his involvement in execution of hundreds of opposition members in Iran in the 1980s.

The exhange took place in Oman. According to Swedish media, the Swedish government was long uncertain if the deal would actually materialize. | © 2024 Marcel Burger, nordicreporter.com
