This is the first photo after it eased down, an hour into the storm, when only some rumble stayed. There she is, the old town of my new hometown. Hav There she is, the old town of my new hometown. Have you been following me for some time, this summerly move from the Stockholm region to Kraków doesn't come as a surprise. I am realising a dream I had for years, and right now everything seems to fall into place. My place on a perfect location in a vibrant city that has been home to me for many shorter periods. Here I will share life with friends, with my love plus a group of wonderful people that almost feels like family. Here I plan to eat the great Polish flexitarian cuisine, and will much cook my own. Here I plan to work, dance, enjoy, talk, read, have a piwo every now and then, hike, drive and celebrate life.15 years ago I moved to Sweden, and I will be there often. But home is now further south; my cross-Baltic commuting changes direction.How long my Krakówian enterprise will last is yet unknown. A few months or years? Sweden has officially decided to "phase out" the #COVID19 vaccinations from the British-Swedish #AstraZeneca concern. Why now has not been publically supported by new evidence against it. Those already with a first dose will be offered an alternative. #Sweden

Norway axes EUR 220 mln in financial support to #Hungary. The Norwegian state department says its difficult to find a trustworthy Hungarian currator of the money, meant to support the civilian society mostly. Hungarian leader Orbán's autocraticism is seen as reason behind.

Ryanair moves all its flights to/from Stockholm to Arlanda IAP in November. It leaves Skavsta Airport in Nyköping, 1.5 hours by car south of the capital. Arlanda is more centrally located 20-40 min by train, bus or car from both Stockholm and Uppsala. #sweden #ryanair #airtravel

Today 10 years ago 77 people died in two subsequent attacks by one Norwegian extremist. A bomb was set off in Oslo's govt quarter, but most were shot at the island of Utøya. Today a third of the survivors of the island are still on sick leave, SVT reported. #Norway #Oslo

In 2006 I left my family, friends and the security of a relatively steady editorial job in the Netherlands to move to Sweden, for love. A heartbreak later I’m still around – having crisscrossed like crazy through my new land to make a travel guide book, adding a new career as a language teacher at elementary and lower secondary schools, becoming a freelance Scandinavia correspondent & fixer for Belgian and Dutch media. From Sweden I pop across the Baltic Sea, often to Poland where I sometimes live and work from.
